Today's grocery run entailed a certain amount of ridiculousness when I saw a "throwback" edition of a soda brand that didn't even exist when cane sugar was still in use. Heck, it wasn't even a twinkle in the marketing manager's eye in the '70s. But even the erstwhile History major who still lives inside me has a difficult time objecting to that kind of "revisionism" if it helps stem the tide of high-fructose corn syrup in the American diet. Tough call, that.
